Brian Jones US1576 (He inherited his father’s sail number)
Brian Jones visited Composite Concepts to pick up the Bronze fleet trophy he won at the 2020 North American championship. He was tied for first in the Silver fleet but left before the regatta was completed. Brian’s father, Bob Jones US1576, was a legendary DN sailor who passed away on May 30, 2020. [Obituary here.] Bob sailed back in the day with Charlie Cartwright, Bill Sarns, Stan Woodruff, Eddie Kraft, Don Vercruysse, Art Teutsch, and Skip Boston. Bob was a party animal and fit right in. He was roommates with Charlie Cartwright at Central Michigan University and that is how he got started in iceboating.
